FIORE FILMS

SOCIALLY CONSCIOUS FILMS THAT EDUCATE, ENLIGHTEN AND ENTERTAIN.

This year Fiore Films produced 2 new compelling documentary films. 10 CITY BLOCKS: Survival Sex Trade in the Downtown East Side, follows six sex trade workers who share their struggles with addiction, mental health and the fear of violent assault. This courageous film takes the viewer to a place we know little about. Knowledgeable commentary and strategies for improvement by NDP member of parliament, Libby Davies; VPD constable/outreach worker, Dave Dickson and Criminology researcher, Kelly Bohl.

The second film, UNDERSTANDING THE BROKEN MIND: Recovery from Schizophrenia, follows 3 unique, high functioning people. They share their first psychotic episodes, treatment, hospitalization and even recovery. This inspiring and powerful film supports the idea that schizophrenia can be understood and ultimately overcome.

As for pricing, the newer films are slightly higher than last years offerings. This is mainly because of the subject matter and length of the films. At Fiore Films, we believe that our films should be accessible to all. We accomplish this by organizing and hosting public screenings in the city every year. This year Vancouver Foundation will be hosting a public screening of, UNDERSTANDING THE BROKEN MIND. We will be posting screening dates on our front page soon. I hope to see you all there.

Please take the time to send us a comment or ask a question. We are more than happy to answer all your inquiries. Thank you and be well.

Sincerely,

Andrew Fiore
